Fruits for Losing Weight

Fruits are great source of nutrients, vitamins and anti-oxidant. A fruit diet once a day will help you to LOOSE WEIGHT, stay FRESH and HEALTHY. Fruits are ideal for weight management program.
Fruits are an excellent source of energy and nutrition and diets rich in fruits provide the required nutrients to the body and keep the body hydrated.

Fruits improve blood circulation, boost immune system, improve digestive system, give glow to the skin, and add shine to the hair, promoting overall health. A fruit diet is a good detoxification medium and, if one is looking for natural weight loss remedies, fruit diet or diets rich in fruits may ensure weight loss without causing any harm to the body.

The five categories of fruits considered best for losing weight are:

High-carbohydrate fruits
Diets rich in high-carbohydrate fruits--such as banana, plum, pear, kiwifruit, pineapple, mango, grape, and fig--should be eaten for breakfast. These fruits give the required energy to jump start digestion and provide the required sugar content after the night’s fasting. These fruits should be included in diets on a regular basis and should be consumed with dry fruits, such as dates, raisins, almonds, apricots, and prunes.

Low-carbohydrate fruits
Watermelon, peach, nectarine, cantaloupe, apple, and papaya come under this category. These nutritious fruits have high water content and control the body temperature and help expel bad cholesterol from the body. They provide the necessary energy for the cardiovascular and nervous systems to function optimally. The low-carbohydrate fruits like these do not tax the body with excess sugar content; instead, diets rich in these fruits aid burning excess fat and losing weight.

Citrus fruits and berries
Diets rich in citrus fruits provide minimal carbohydrates. These fruits include raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, and to some extent strawberries and blue berries. A small amount of lime, lemon, or sweet lime can also be included. These fruits help promote bowel movement and thereby detoxification. They eliminate toxins or undigested matter from the body. Citrus fruits and berries cleanse the blood and reinforce cardiovascular system. This promotes heart health as well. These fruits aid in removing bad cholesterol and improving digestion and appetite, thereby leading to healthy weight loss.

Watery fruits
Fruits—such as watermelon, cantaloupe, musk melon, and honey dew melon—all have plenty of water in them with an amount of carbohydrates. They provide excellent hydration for digestion and low amount of carbohydrates for instant energy to the body. These watery fruits provide the required water content for effective digestion and excretion of toxins, thereby aiding detoxification and healthy weight loss.

Dry fruits
These are dried fruits like raisins, dates, and prunes. Dry fruits can be added in small quantities to fresh fruits in diets. These fruits are excellent sources of vitamins and minerals, and they complement the deficiency of minerals and vitamins in fresh fruits. Dry fruits along with fresh fruits in diets are effective in burning excess fat and reducing cholesterol, thus promoting healthy weight loss. They also improve the immune system and aid in detoxification.

Some of the fruits are:

Apples
An apple a day can keep weight gain at bay. People who chomped an apple before a pasta meal ate fewer calories overall than those who had a different snack. Plus, the antioxidants in apples may help prevent metabolic syndrome, a condition marked by excess belly fat or an "apple shape."

Steaks
Beef has a rep as a diet buster, but eating it may help you peel off pounds. Try to consume local organic beef; it's healthier for you and the environment.

Eggs
Dig in to eggs, yolks and all: They won't harm your heart, but they can help you trim inches.

Kale
This green has been buzzy lately. One raw chopped cup contains 34 calories and about 1.3 grams of fiber, as well as a hearty helping of iron and calcium.

Oats
All oats are healthful, but the steel-cut and rolled varieties (which are minimally processed) have up to 5 grams of fiber per serving, making them the most filling choice. Instant oats contain 3 to 4 grams per serving.

Lentils
Lentils are a bona fide belly flattener. Eating them helps prevent insulin spikes that cause your body to create excess fat, especially in the abdominal area.

Goji berries
These chewy, tart berries have a hunger-curbing edge over other fruit: 18 amino acids, which make them a surprising source of protein. Snack on them mid-afternoon to stay satisfied until dinner. The calorie cost? Only 35 per tablespoon.

Wild salmon
Not only do fish fats keep your heart healthy, but they shrink your waist, too. Omega-3 fatty acids improve insulin sensitivity—which helps build muscle and decrease belly fat. And the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns. Opt for wild salmon; it may contain fewer pollutants.

Buckwheat pasta
Swap plain noodles for this hearty variety; you'll slip into your favorite jeans in no time. Buckwheat is high in fiber and, unlike most carbs, contains protein, so it's harder to overeat buckwheat pasta than the regular stuff.

Blue Berries
All berries are good for you, but those with a blue hue are among the best of the bunch. They have the highest antioxidant level of all commonly consumed fruit. They also deliver 3.6 grams of fiber per cup.

Almond butter
Adding this spread may lower bread's glycemic index (a measure of a food's effect on blood sugar). A study from the University of Toronto found that people who ate almonds with white bread didn't experience the same blood sugar surges as those who ate only the slice.

Pomegranates
The juice gets all the hype for being healthy, but pomegranate seeds deserve their own spotlight. In addition to being loaded with folate and disease-fighting antioxidants, they're low in calories and high in fiber, so they satisfy your sweet tooth without blowing your diet.

Chiles
One reason to spice up your meals: You'll crank up your metabolism. A compound in chiles called capsaicin has a thermogenic effect, meaning it causes the body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you eat the chiles.

Yogurt
Dietitians often refer to plain yogurt as the perfect food, and for good reason: With its trifecta of carbs, protein and fat, it can stave off hunger by keeping blood sugar levels steady.

Quinoa
Curbing hunger is as easy as piling your plate with this whole grain. It packs both fiber (2.6 grams per 1/2 cup) and protein, a stellar nutrient combo that can keep you satisfied for hours.

Sardines
These tiny fish are the unsung stars of the sea. They are high in protein and loaded with omega-3s, which also help the body maintain muscle. And they're low in mercury and high in calcium, making them a smart fish pick for pregnant women. If the flavor doesn't appeal to you, soak them in milk for an hour; it will remove any trace of fishiness.

Tarragon
You can use this herb, a staple in French cooking, in place of salt in marinades and salad dressings. Plus, tarragon lends a sweet, licorice-like flavor to bland foods.

Parmesan
Drop that rubbery lowfat cheese and pick up the real stuff. Women who had one serving of whole milk or cheese daily were less likely to gain weight over time, a study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition finds.

Avocado
Don't let the fat content of an avocado (29 grams) scare you—that's what makes it a top weight loss food. The heart-healthy monounsaturated fat it contains increases satiety. And it's terrific party food.

Olive oil
Like avocados, olive oil has healthy fat that increases satiety, taming your appetite. But that's hardly its only slimming feature. Research shows it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Chronic inflammation in the body is linked to metabolic syndrome.

Pineapple
Pineapples are rich with numerous essential nutrients, vitamins, fiber, enzymes, antioxidant, calcium, manganese, potassium and minerals. The fruit is Free of Fat and Cholesterol. It is a good weight loss and weight management fruit. Pineapple fruit contain more than 85% water and is high in fiber. Mango has a myriad of benefits that are good for the health of our bodies, can treat diseases such as cancer, helps digestion because it is rich in fiber and many more benefits and efficacy that we can get by eating mangoes every day. Mangoes classified as rich fruit beta-carotene and vitamin A. As a provider of vitamin A. Because rich in beta-carotene and vitamin A, eating mangoes can also boost the immune system and can lower the risk of heart disease.

1.  Prevents Cancer:
Mangoes contain various antioxidant compounds that help protect the body against colon, breast, leukemia, & prostate cancers. Some of these compounds include: quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat.

2.  Lowers Cholesterol:
Mangoes contain high levels of fiber, pectin, and Vitamin C that help improves digestion and lowers cholesterol.

3.  Clears the Skin:
Can be used both internally and externally for the skin. Mangos clear clogged pores and eliminate pimples.

10. Boosts Immune system
The generous amounts of vitamin C and vitamin A in mangos, plus 25 different kinds of carotenoids keep your immune system healthy and strong.

Foods That Are Bad for Skin

With growing awareness, people have become more health as well as beauty conscious. In this aesthetic-loving age, it is very essential to let people know that what they consider 'aesthetic' is also related to their skin. Importantly, manifestations of your nutritional status as well as body’s nutritional needs reflect on the skin's health.

Dehydration
Dehydraton causes drying of the skin. Wrinkling is a common side effect of lack of moisture in the skin. Dehydration and acne are interlinked because drying of skin and dead skin cells coming together cause acne.

Excess Salt
Excess salt retains additional fluid in the body causing swelling and a puffy look to the skin. The skin texture is spoilt on prolonged salt abuse. Papads, pickles, salted foods, table salt, brined/canned food products are the potential sources of salt to the body.

Excess Caffeine
Caffeine is a known stimulant which increase the cortisol production in the body and enhances the ageing process by thinning the skin. This dehydrates the skin and even leads to wrinkling. In addition, caffeine is a diuretic which further increases the risk of dehydration. So beware when you decide to go for an additional helping of coffee, tea or chocolates too!

Alcohol
Alcohol inhibits the Anti-Diuretic Hormone secretion thus causing dehydration. Furthermore, it also causes vasodilatation, which then leads to excess water loss through the skin. This is also known to be a contributing factor to acute phases of psoriasis as per the American Academy of Dermatology.

Foods with high glycemic load
These foods cause drastic fluctuations in the blood sugar. This leads to excess secretion of insulin and androgens during the high and low bouts respectivel. A major reason to contribute to surplus sebum production, enhanced skin cell division and aggregation of dead skin cells – leading to acne.

Excess sugar
Not literally only sugar, but even jaggery and honey

Aerated beverages
Aerated drinks can be nightmarish for the skin. Exceptions are the so-called diet-cokes and the family. But their caffeine content makes them the villains for skin health.

Processed foods
Refined or processed foods like maida (refined flour) and its products, canned and sweetened fruits and juices are low in fiber content, thus increasing the glycemic load. Moreover the processed foods are often high in their salt/sodium content. As a by-product of processing, these also lose the nutrients of the parent food products important for skin health.

Foods that enhance free-radical production
Free radicals are known to disrupt the skin's structure by destroying collagen and elastin; the fibres that support the skin structure. They also cause damage at the cellular level by disturbing the DNA structure.

Red meat
Consumption of red meat, especially fat-laden parts can lead to inflammatory reactions. This is by the virtue of saturated fat content of meats. In excess, free radicals generated overpowers the anti-oxidation capacity of the free radical scavengers in the body.

Fried foods and hydrogenated fat
Excess heat application like during frying of foods and production of hydrogenated fat (margarine, vanaspati ghee) leads to oxidation of fatty acids and destruction of anti-oxidant nutrients like vitamin E, omega-3 fats present in the oils/fat. Generation of trans-fatty acids encourages free radical production by fueling the oxidation process. So next time you thing margarine is healthier to butter…you’ll remember reading this!

Excess use of artificial sweeteners/ colors/ flavors
These chemicals lodge into our systems and are difficult to flush out of our body. Overuse and inability to flush them out in time could be the pre-cursor for free radical production.

Crash diets
Dehydration is a side effect of crash dieting. Studies suggest that consuming lot of water throughout this phase barely helps and this is because body doesn’t retain water due to nutritional deprivation and lack of balanced meals.

Crash diets are known to cause dramatic fluctuations in blood sugar levels, no wonder acnes are so common amongst anorexics and bulemics. Skin requires antioxidant nutrients (Vitamins A, C, E, zinc, selenium, etc.) that scavenge the free radicals. The Journal of Investigative Dermatology (Feb, 2005) testifies that long term vitamins C and E intake is linked with reduced incidence of sunburns from exposure to UVB radiation. These antioxidant vitamins help protect against DNA damage by protecting the skin structure. Crash diets are known to cause nutrient deficiencies and thereby the lack of antioxidants too.

Cherries Health Benefits

Cherries are smooth fruit that display just one weak groove. It’s indigenous to the Northern Hemisphere and grows fastest inside a temperate climate. The title ‘cherry’ is Latin in origin, based on cerasum. The fruit has adopted a lengthy sojourn amongst recognition, from Cerasus to Europe, to Tyneham in Kent. The types broadly cultivated range from the wild cherry, sweet cherry and also the sour cherry. The second is mainly the range used extensively in cooking. The fruit isn’t mix-pollinated and it is mainly grown for consumption.

The fruit is grown extensively in the usa, the Iberian peninsula, Baltic States, Scandinavia and Canada. The cherry cultivars are known to as ‘Brooks’, ‘King’, Bing’, ‘Rainier’ and ‘Royal Ann’. Traverse City in Michigan, USA, is the ‘Cherry Capital from the World’. The cherry tree is extremely revered in Japan. The attractive blossoms are a crucial part of spring flower shows. Ornamental cherries like ‘Kanzan’ are flowering cultivars that flaunt ‘double’ flowers and therefore are mainly cultivated for decorative value.

Cherries extensively studied its benefits in the fight against cancer. The results so far show that eating fruit is very useful in fighting organ cancers. Antioxidants in cherries may fight free radicals, or unstable molecules that can damage cells in the human body, so it is believed to slow the aging process.

Research reveals that the red pigment anthocyanin in cherries help reduce inflammation and pain. Cherries are also known to lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes. The study revealed that people who consume cherries every day, have low blood cholesterol levels and lower triglycerides.

There are many health benefits that we can get from cherry. Cherries are one of the very low calorie fruits; however, they are rich source of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

1. Aid muscle recovery: According to a research, cherries contain anti-inflammatory properties, which help reduce muscle pain, following rigorous exercise. A study by the Oregon Health and Science University in America also showed that athletes who drank cherry juice before a long-distance relay, experienced less muscle pain after the race than those who drank another fruit drink.

2. Help you sleep: Cherries contain melatonin, a chemical our brain needs to regulate sleep, aid with jet lag, prevent memory loss and delay the ageing process. Scientists at the Northumbria University in Britain revealed that volunteers who drank cherry juice received a significant boost to their levels of melatonin.

3: Reduce gout: Cherry juice helps reduce blood uric-acid levels and gout pain. The chemicals called anthocyanins in cherries reduce inflammation to ease joint pain as well as the effects of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Research by the Human Nutrition Research Center at the University of California showed that women who consumed 280 grams of tart cherries showed an overnight 15 percent reduction in uric acid levels.

4: Good skin: One of the reasons why you should make the cherry as a favorite fruit, it is a vitamin A-containing high carotene. Two of these nutrients are needed for immunity and also beautify the skin. This fruit contains even 20 times higher than strawberries and blueberries.

5: A useful diuretic: Cherries are an extremely effective diuretic. Cherries have a reasonable potassium content and virtually no sodium.

6: Sex booster: Cherry juice contains vitamins A and C, which boost libido in men and women. Vitamin A increases testosterone and oestrogen levels, while vitamin C boosts sexual appetite and increases men’s semen volume.
7:Anti cancer
Cherries also contributed as body armor from a variety of cancers. How it works is very simple. As an antioxidant that frees the body from free radical damage causes the body's cells and tissues.

8:Diabetes
One more health benefits you can get from fruit cherries. Helps reduce the risk of diabetes. Anthocyanins contained in it, is believed to increase the production of insulin. Of course you also have to avoid foods with excessive sweetness.

9:Weight Loss
A cherry is made up of more than 75 percent water. This water content makes cherries a perfect weight loss food as foods that are high in water and low in calories keep you feeling fuller for a longer period of time than foods and drinks that are higher in calories. Cherries are also loaded with soluble fiber. This water dissolvable fiber helps accelerate weight loss and reduces your cholesterol levels by slowing its absorption into your blood.

10:Detoxification
Cherries contain nutrients that have cleansing properties and scientists have confirmed that cherries help our liver and kidneys to get rid of toxicity which makes them perform better.

This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

· Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
· Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
· You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
· Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
· 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
· Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

DISCLAIMER : We do not have very strong evidence to support this article, but one thing is sure that drinking water in the morning is not going to harm anybody.

Also, we do not encourage you to take this as the only treatment for the cure of heart disease, this is a POSSIBLE treatment not the complete treatment.
